I decided to surprise Scottie (Davis' babysitter) at work on Friday with cake and a visit from Davis at work for her birthday. She works in the Cath Lab at the VA Hospital, and Michael just so happens to be at the VA this month. So, I worked it out so that we would be there at a good time to see him, too. Davis has never gotten to visit his daddy at work. So, we loaded up and headed to the VA. I found the Cath Lab, and Scottie was soooo surprised and excited to see Davis. We had a great time visiting, and Davis got to show her how well he is walking! Then we went downstairs to the GI Lab. Michael was in the middle of a colonoscopy, so we waited with all of the sweet nurses until Michael was done with his case. They gave Davis so much attention, and I think everyone that worked in or near the GI Lab stopped by to meet him. He LOVED it! Here are a couple of pictures of us waiting, and one of Davis and Michael. I think the glasses are protective eye wear for the procedures. . . . Michael typically doesn't wear glasses on top of his head. Ha!

Our Baby is One!
It seems just like yesterday that I went into labor, and Davis was born! It has been an amazing year to say the least. Davis is such a blessing, and Michael and I, of course, love him beyond words. It's hard to believe that this time last year we were so overwhelmed with the new responsiblity of being parents, and today we feel like we're pros! ha! It has been wonderful watching him grow and learn, and seeing his personality develop more and more. I could go on and on! Today we celebrated with lunch at Brio where he had his very own order of spaghetti with meat sauce, and then walked through Brookwood mall where there was a magician outside of the toy store. He made Davis a birthday hat out of balloons. Davis LOVES it! Then we ran into the Finleys, and Davis and Porter hung out for a few minutes. Davis napped, and then we took him back to the mall for his favorite--a sugar cookie from The Cookie Co. The best thing about the day was that he gave us a gift. (i guess?) He is officially walking! He has been taking a few steps here and there, but now, he'll walk across the room and then sit down and crawl! So, needless to say, we'll never forget when our baby started walking! Happy Birthday sweet baby!

Davis' First Birthday Party!!!
Davis' first birthday party was 8/23. It was a Cowboy Party, and we were supposed to have ponies but it rained! :( The party was so much fun, and Davis knew he was the center of attention! We had so much fun celebrating with friends, family, and neighbors. Davis ate lots of cake and snacks, and I couldn't believe he didn't have an upset stomach! It was a very special day, and he is loving of his new toys!

The cutest/funniest picture. . . .
When we were in Atlanta for Claire's second birthday, she and Davis played so well together! I put Davis in the back of this truck, and he pushed the lawn mower while Claire pushed him all over the yard. It was soooo funny! She entertained Davis a lot!

First Day of Fall Mother's Day Out. . . .
Davis started Mother's Day out on Tuesday! His teachers are so sweet, and Davis is loving it! When we walk in he starts pushing out of my arms so that he can get down and play. I "tried" to take a couple of pictures of him before we left Tuesday morning, but he was all over the place! He wore a little blue and white gingham jon jon that was Cooper's. It is smocked with a school bus and red school house. It looked so cute on him, I have to say! When i dropped him off, all of the little boys were dressed so cute--monogrammed jon jons, plaid bubbles, etc. What a precious class!
